Collegiate House Debt

Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Every good deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied manifold. A good deed will be multiplied ten times up to as many as seven hundred times, or as much as Allah wills.”

It is also narrated that the Messenger of Allah , said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”

It is now coming up to two years since we completed the purchase of the new premises, Collegiate House. Due to the pandemic and resulting effects on council working conditions, the Title Deeds only came through in February 2021. The completed purchase price with all relevant costs is £952,562.20.

Alhamdulillah, to date we have repaid approximately £142,000.00 of the loan and paid all the renovation costs. The debt remaining is £810,710.60 as of 01/04/2022

Our consultants are currently in the process of submitting a full planning application and listed Building Consent for change of purpose. This a complicated and lengthy process and we request you all to make special Du’aa that the almighty Subhanhu wa Ta’ala completes the process with aafiyat and ease.

An Open Day is being planned to allow families to view the school building and the grounds around it; this will be scheduled very soon after Ramadhaan.

In the meantime, we are still appealing to our community to continue assisting by regularly making Du’aa for the planning process and ease in repaying the loan.

In this holy month, we have set a target to raise £150,000.00.

This may seem a big amount but we would like to remind ourselves that by the fazl of the almighty  £800,000.00 was raised in the six weeks after the auction in Feb 2020.

If we all make an effort to try and raise £1000.00 between family and friends, we are hopeful the almighty will fulfil our desire. However, whatever amount we raise, the almighty will reward us on our efforts and sacrifice.

From the Hadith above, every good deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied manifold.  So, Ramadan is a good time to gain as much reward as possible.

We realise that even though lockdown regulations are relaxed many people are still understandably cautious and so families may find it difficult to gather donations in person. However, we are fortunate to have social media platforms and the school website is also available for friends and family to visit.

We will be posting appeal posters throughout the month by email and on the website and we request well-wishers to utilise these to help in the fund raising.

Please help our children by helping the school.

May the Almighty complete all our projects with ease and aafiyat and accept our efforts.
