The aim of the Cultural Diversity Day is to explore various countries through an appreciation of their food, clothing, cities, etc.
It was an opportunity to help the children uderstand value of cultural diversity and learn how to live together in harmony.
In Year two, we explored the many safari animals of Kenya and tasted a Kenyan dish called Mandazi.
In Year Three, we tasted Greek olives, feta cheese and baklava. We also painted the Greek flag correctly, and played some Olympic games!
In Year four, we sketched famous landmarks of Australia, created the flag and tasted lamingtons
Year 5 learnt some phrases and numbers in Japanese, used chopsticks to eat teriyaki ramen noodles, tried calligraphy and practised karate with Sensei Mustafa!
In Year 6, we tasted doughnuts and drink from Tim Hortons; a well known Canadian franchise.
