Each half term, the school holds an inter-school competition, with points awarded to children and
their streams of Jannah. This half term (Spring 1), a handwriting competition was organised, with
children in each year group asked to practice and write a given script, using legible script, joined
where appropriate.
The deadline for entries was Tuesday 31st January 2023, and a total of 50 were handed in. Each
participant received 10 effort points for their stream of Jannah. Entries were reviewed and analysed by
Rukhsar Apa, and 6 winners were identified, one in each year group. The winners were awarded with
an additional 10 attainment points and a certificate.
We were very pleased with the quality of the writing – children in Year 2 demonstrated a fantastic
grasp of joined handwriting already! We hope that children continue to improve their handwriting as
pen licenses will be awarded to those who are using joined script legibly and regularly during the
summer term.
Congratulations to the winners!
